Statement of Purpose:  To enroll in a Ph.D. biochemistry program, focusing my research on protein engineering.

Education:

• Currently enrolled in the biochemistry program at Russell Sage College.  GPA: 3.75, degree to be awarded May 2009.

 Work Experience:

• Tutor for biochemistry I, organic chemistry I, and French 101: Fall Semester 2008.  Help students to understand concepts they may be having trouble with in these classes. 
• Internship at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute: May 2008-August 2008.  Worked for Dr. George Makhatadze in the Protein Engineering department on a research project involving protein kinetics.
• Teaching Assistant for Organic II Laboratory: Spring Semester 2008.  Assisted students with using an NMR and interpreting the spectra of various compounds.
• Laboratory Technician Intern at Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals: May 2007-August 2007.  Performed dissolution and HPLC analysis of drug compounds.
