Okay, so I haven't updated in... well, MONTHS. I am still alive, but so rarely check my flist these days. I don't even know why, because I am around and online. A lot because I'm bored and unemployed as of a couple of weeks ago.
I do have another interview on Monday however, so, maybe not bored and unemployed for much longer. I hope. Really really.
Anyway. Forcing myself to update via meme, because otherwise I would fail at words and content. I am lame.
RP meme:
Where and when did you start RPing? My last year of high school, and I started on LJ RP thanks to velocityofsound who with help from tinylegacies persuaded me to apply to fandomhigh. That was... four years ago now. Wow.
Do you RP anywhere other than LJ? Nope. Never have. Well, not unless MMORPG's count. I don't consider WoW RP.
Do you play in any public games? fandomhigh and technically at After Tomorrow still, I suppose.
Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging? I'm definitely all for the prose. Just nowhere near as comfortable with first person. Even when it comes to the silly little things we do in fandomtherapy.
What was the first character you ever played? imac_kenzie at fandomhigh. Four years I've had her as of this month.
... Which reminds me, I need to post some January activity for her.
Who's your favourite character to play now and why? Funnily enough, my favourite at the moment is the toughest. Effy. Of all of them she's got the most issues, but I loooove the challenge of pulling off such a complicated character, and trying to drag her through the huge personality shift they put her through on the show, without half the impetus she had in canon.
We shall see if I can actually pull that off.
What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character? imac_kenzie at fandomhigh and briefly a second incarnation at milieux_ecole.
What's your biggest RP pet peeve? I... actually don't know. I'm a really easy-going roleplayer, and provided someone can spell, use punctuation and doesn't have characterisation that makes me want to beat my head against a wall... Okay, maybe I have some peeves.
Do you read RP secrets and the RP anon meme? I flick through the RP secrets for the LULZ when I get bored. I looked through the Anon Meme once, found an FH thread and no one seemed able to come up with wank about it. Kind of proud of us for that.
If you've played in public before, do you prefer community based or journal based games? I'm very used to the fandomhigh way of doing things, so... A nice mixture.
Would you rather play with someone who's very very IC but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always IC (but not terrible) and a great writer? Mm. That's difficult. A lack of good characterisation makes me CRINGE if I know the canon, but on the other hand... Can I not ask for a nice happy medium?
Do you have a "RP partner"? Not really? There are people I play with more than others, but its usually a case of timezones meshing right, unplanned long-term relationships, or characters who just gravitate towards each other for whatever reason.
Do you ever stalk any casts, games, or players? Who? I occasionally hunt down the journals of other versions of my characters, either for validation even if its of the headdesky 'mine MUST be better than that' variety... And to steal their icons.
Oh, and I follow the antics of my various characters friends/significant others, because um, useful to know. But I wouldn't call it a stalk.
In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying? Canon write ups. I have such trouble deciding what to put in them, what not to and where to just STOP.
Are you one of those people who has to customise their character's journal layout and userinfo? Yep. Not extensively, and once I've done it I generally leave it be, but-- Yeah.
What was your first game? Still fandomhigh.
Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from? Noooope. I mean, there'll always be ones I will specifically try to tag into because I know them, but not the other way around.
Most memorable scene in any thread? Oh, man, there are so many. Some of the old school stuff with Mac, there are some like her and Piper and Bel throwing twinkies off the dorm roof, or her turning things into tortillas are some that will always stick in my mind.
More recently? Some of the dramaz with Angela and Hannibal's relationship, and zombies, and the vampverse stuff with Effy and Shawn.
Do you RP sex? Yep. With a lot of vague and euphamism-filled prose. It always used to make me flaiiil - and the idea still weirds out the boy - but I do play a couple of characters (oh yeah, I'm talking both Effy and Angela here to an extent) who canonically do base a lot of their reactions and relationships with people off their sexuality, so if a thread goes that way I don't shy away from it particularly. Not unless I'm feeling particularly lazy/busy/don't know whoever I'm playing against that well.
Do you play more males or females? Giiirls. I always find them easier to get into somehow. I have played, and do still play a couple of boys, but they get sadly neglected sometimes, I admit. I keep saying I'll work on that, and one day I WILL.
What won't you RP? There's nothing I've outright refused to RP, but-- I'd imagine if anything got too creepy and I was uncomfortable I'd just drop the thread and move on.
Dressing rooms: yes or no? Never been in one, so I'll go no.
Ever RPed a pairing? Several over the years, to a greater or lesser degree, but I never plan anything like that. That would involve organisation, and I have none.
Favourite place to play: musebox, open posts, public games, private games? Open posts, public games. I've never played anywhere else, tbh.
Talking RP with someone else who plays your character: fun or awkward? Haven't ever done it, actually. I've never been in a game with someone playing a character I've played before.
