The one where the hard part about moving is the move itself.

Synopsis: Eminently predictable comment about how the actual move is the hard part.

Summary: Mike will be astonished by something else that's blazingly obvious on Saturday.

A what? A filing cabinet? Who brings a filing cabinet to college?

I know who doesn't question somethuseless like that: the child of a woman who insists that a daughter being packed away to a farm take a dress with her.

At least he's not his idiot uncle. Phil collects useless junk he doesn't know how to use:

and gives way to a fool's economy:

at Georgia's expense because he might as well join Possum Lodge:

because he's a low-foresight having honkie who won't admit when he done fucked up:

1. The purchase of a house kind of has to be a mutual decision. This is the kind of thing that wrecks marriage. It's also the kind of thing you talk about way before this.

2. Phil is way too quick to engage in this kind of argument in public. You both need to get your act together and have enough respect for each other not to carry on like this in front of other people. Air your dirty laundry in private. This is not Elly's business. What is the matter with you two?

  1. Phil confuses being a passive lump drifting through life like a plastic bag caught in a breeze with being free. He isn't going to want to talk about it.
  2. He never bothered growing up either.

Who is the "they" who say those things, John? Oh right, nobody- it's just a lame attempt to set up a lamer punchline.

If you're dumb enough to move heavy, delicate objects like a piano and a mattress without covering them, you deserve what you get- a damaged piano and ruined mattresses. Dumb as dirt, these people are.

Know what makes moving heavy objects easier? Not giving a speech while doing it.

Explaining this to Phil would be like explaining to him that most of why his camping trip went awry is that he didn't know what he was doing.

wait a minute, did he force her to lie on top of all that stuff?

also, Red Green is actually funny, unlike this strip.

Force? I don't see force. I see "macaroon unable to realize what inertia is". Joe Boatfoot forgot she was trying not to fall out and die when he gunned the engine.

I guess you are right. If Mike was like Phil, he and Weed would be moving stuff on the back of a rickety truck in the rain while of them was in the back keeping things from falling out of the truck. It could be worse.

be thankful we don't see a sink and a full-sized fridge in the back of that car.

If Lynn was trying to make it funny showing the excess of the boys' packing, those would be great items to include. Sadly, I think she was serious.
