First of all, you have to wonder why in the world Mike would let anyone borrow his key in order to let someone else borrow stuff. Also, you have to wonder about the temerity of a guy to steal a door while there was someone sleeping inside the room. That sort of stunt relies on Mike being an incredibly heavy sleeper.
Nevertheless, as a reminder, at this point in time Mike has a room to himself in the dormitory and is not yet rooming with Josef Weeder. This is to remind us that Mike has enough money so that if someone pranks him, he has the financial power to just move out of a dormitory he has already paid for and move into an apartment with all the startup costs required.
By the way, here is how to remove a locked door without actually having to unscrew the door from the hinges or unlock the door.

Mike let someone borrow his key because he was raised to be an idiot who doesn't have common sense by a braindead house-frau mother who has hobby jobs and a yokel father filled with useless advice. Not asking questions is what gets his head stuck in a girl's shower and it's what messes up his love life.

Next week, there's token worrying about the cost
that leads into jabbering about getting kids off the payroll.
(Way to turn her into someone who fears leases and contracts, you vindictive ass......)
when I was in college some of the students who lived off campus bought their own groceries and if they showed up at the cafeteria you'd know they hadn't gotten their allowance yet.
Mike just decides to move and his parents just go along with it, no matter what the expense is. A regular kid would have to ask parent permission first before making such a move, because John has probably already paid for the dorm for the semester.
The reason Mike is in the position he's in can be explained by the "I'm going to pack you off to camp because I'm too big a coward to learn who you are and why you fight all the time" arc:
Mike goes to B movie wacky hijinks camp:
and until he starts marching with Martha in moonlight has a miserable time
while Elizabeth has a good time at regular human being camp:
Lynn is probably inserting her own belief system over a reality that baffles her again. Actual camp was less scarring for Aaron but where's the fun in depicting him being a boring, ordinary person when she can shame him for talking nonsense about meal plans?
Michael has unusually long monkey arms in that one strip. I didn't notice before because I was wondering who the hell Arnie Feldman was. he sounds like somebody out of Mad magazine.
"You know there's a camp penalty for getting your head stuck in the girls shower hut."
Seems bizarrely specific. By "you know," I have to assume it's actually written down in the rulebook the kids get and are expected to be familiar with. What if your head doesn't get stuck? What if it's the boys shower hut? Is it all good then? And what does "camp penalty" mean? Why isn't it just "penalty?" For some reason this reminds me of cheesy science fantasy movies adding the words "Space" or "Astro" to everyday items.

By now, John has surrendered his virility......I mean, "checkbook" to Elly anyway so Mike can do whatever he wants.

John is also guilty. He did take a trip with Mike to pick out locations, so Mike got the idea that his opinion outweighed anyone else's.

Elly clearly considers camp a punishment.

also I have no context here. Michael and Liz usually don't fight with Brian or Dawn at all. Elly doesn't care why they were fighting but I'm curious.

Brian tried talking sense into Kid Zero-Sum FALLACY:
but went along anway.

"heat frustration"?
Let Ricky from Trailer Park Boys do the malaprops, he's good at it.
Also, "Lizzie and the girls"? Dawn's the only other girl there!

Why can't Lynn write dialogue? Like, at all?
