The one where April makes bad wordplay about a bruised rump.

Lynn clearly misunderstood what Sparky meant by amusing herself.

If I can resist my urge to say the name that's popped into my head ever since Taxi aired when I listen to Tiny Dancer, she can quit using poor-to-impossible-to-translate wordplay.

The never did follow the translatable idea that they wanted. That's why I always had to remember that when they included all the countries her comic strip was in, it was mainly Stars and Stripes military newspapers.

Edgar absolutely can be broken, but "animals can't get hurt, I can't believe Farley died because that's not supposed to happen" is an actual philosophy of this strip.

But animals do get hurt. Lynn is just too big a coward to admit it.

"I don't think Edgar can be broken" is not the message April needs to hear. How about "Edgar is a fragile animal and can be hurt if you treat him roughly." Or if we want to really hit home with a self-centered Patterson, go straight to "it's very likely Edgar will respond by biting your hand off if you treat him roughly."

If Lynn had guts and brains, she'd have shown Edgar killing and eating that rabbit Liz tracked home. That would actually teach the Martian something.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels "off" to me that Liz would be using "broken" in the sense of "breaking" a horse. And i sure as shit would not expect April to understand that expression. As jjamele suggests down-thread, it's a terrible idea to tell a toddler that the dog she already abuses "can't be broken." "Ooh, great! We have an UNBREAKABLE dog!"
