Ryan doesn't realize that he's declared war on April, does he? It's a good thing that he's a one-off or Lynn would have made him a sad kid from a broken home to justify his aggression against the Patterson family.

Seriously, I'm surprised we don't see this kid years later as a drunk in the gutter, or as a plumber, which to the Pattersons is basically the same thing. And April remembering how he was "mean" to her at school and him apologizing while pretending to remember what she's talking about.

All I see is one dumb kid being rude to another dumb kid. Lynn sees it as proof of classroom politics. She doesn't understand how kids behave because she invents rules that don't exist. Nobody actually gets invited into a social circle but she and Lizzie wasted years on the sidelines waiting to be asked to be friends.
