The one where John remembers how Elly thinks.

Lynn's Comments:

Lynn talks about a gesture that seems nice at first:

I once gave each of the girls who worked for me the gift of a professional glamour portrait. I told them that someday they’d look at these photographs and be glad they had them. It’s 20 years since I did this. I hope they look at those portraits from time to time and see how lovely there were.

but looks like her being a passive aggressive bitch when you think it through.

2004? It's hard to tell when Lynn Johnston originally wrote this comment. Nevertheless, anywhere from 2001 - 2004 would be the Toon Team. One of them had an affair with Lynn Johnston's husband and she fired most of them in retribution and closed down their office. Stephanie van Doleweerd still works for Lynn doing her website but had to work from home after the office was closed. Liuba Liamzini she continued to employ as her accountant/Spanish teacher until she moved to Vancouver. The rest of them were gone. I think they might have a hard time looking at those glamor shots fondly, if the photos make them remember their history with Lynn. It's kind of funny Lynn thinks of them in any kind of positive fashion, considering she typically holds grudges for decades.

As for me, when I look at those old glamor shots I think, "giant unnatural-looking hair".

I don't see this as being kind. I see this as a passive-aggressive means of condemning them for not wading into a disgusting situation and making things worse.

If I my boss' husband was having an affair with someone else I worked with, it would not be something I would want to mess with. Entering into that situation, you are guaranteed someone is going to hate you. Now, if my boss was very unpleasant to be around in the first place, I might be inclined to let her find out for herself. This comic strip was clearly aimed at that situation and expressing Lynn's frustration through Elizabeth not being told by anyone that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

Lynn has no idea how unpleasant she can be to be around. She never learned that if everyone seems like an a******, maybe she is the one with the problem.

Revenge firing her staff was a pretty ruthless reaction to something that should have been just between her and Rod.

She hates the people of Lynn Lake because they did not do something that would have enraged her if they'd've done it to her when she was stepping out on Doug. This was inevitable.

why is there a speech balloon around the "knocks"? was Liz just saying "knock knock"??

Perhaps she was hoping that Paul would say, "What knockers!" And then they would reconcile. It could have happened but Susan is there to restrain him from punning.

Once again, Lynn chooses the least interesting things to comment on. Why has Elly's birthday been moved from May to August? How can John be 46 when, according to the old version of the website, they were two years apart, and he had a February birthday?
