Finally finished!

Last night (ok, early this morning, around 1) I finished book 5. Now I just have to bide my time for book 6, because I really can't afford it right now ($30 for a book seems...well...luxurious), the waiting list at the library is a mile long, and I don't know anyone who's got it to borrow it from! :-( (I'll live, I suppose....)

It's funny how I didn't even have the slightest clue about them until less than 3 weeks ago, and now I'm hooked. Book 5 had an odd impact on me. First with Umbridge making words carve into Harry's hands...maybe it's because I'm somone who knows what it is to hurt *yourself*, but the mental image of someone deliberately cutting him as a form of punishment/"reminder" just...*hurt*.

The attacks on people, the fact that Harry could feel Voldemort's emotions to the point that he wanted to strike Dumbledore...that whole thing was played out so brilliantly, and the final battle scene with "Harry" begging Dumbledore to kill him was impossible to put down (hence my sitting up til 1 to finish it.)

The revelation of what was in the prophecy was interesting as well...since Trelawney predicted that either Voldemort or Harry must die at the hand of the other, *and* she keeps predicting Harry's death, does this mean she's on Voldemort's side? Or that she knows something no one, not even Dumbledore, knows?
