Maybe putting off things you don't want to do would seem more like a negative thing if we didn't have a word for it.
But as it is, you can put a nice little "PROCRASTINATION" label on it and it seems like such a natural thing.
Also, it makes it seem like it is an activity in itself.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm procrastinating."
Sheesh.

You've got a point there. I think it is not a specific action, but a way of going about actions. Maybe. I'm (procrastinating in the middle of) writing a paper on Samuel Beckett, so I'm not really sure of anything except that people die and voices must make sound.

You would think it would pay more than it does. Its like five times more stressful than regular work.

never thought about it like that before. if i could find some way to make it marketable, i would be in the carribean floating in the waves and watching the fish right now, along with many, many other people i suspect.

I didn't know it paid at all. Somebody out there owes me bigtime.

lol. nice. but SO many people procrastinate...does that mean it is a natural thing? or just a social disease? i think it is an activity--or could one say "art"?--in itself, and one i'm disturbingly good at. why is it that i'm good at things that you can't put on a résumé? employers everywhere would be clamoring to have me work for them if they wanted the right things. what's up with this "bachelor's degree in related field" crap anyway?

Oh, I don't know if it is a natural thing. I said is seems that way. And I think I, like many others, could fill up several volumes with all my qualifications that aren't resume-worthy. As much as I'd like to start listing some on them...
"Bachelor's degree in a related field"? I don't know about this "related" business, but I personally have earned much of my bachelor's degree in a field.
