I’m not sure that’s it’s all finished stewing in my head yet, so I’m not actually sure WHAT I think of it, but let me tell you, I had it all wrong. And rarely do I have it all wrong.
First of all, let me say that I really expected everyone, or almost everyone to die. And was mightily and pleasantly surprised that they didn't. This is BSG after all. We expect death and gloom, and this was a surprisingly happy ending.
Opera House! Well now we understand you more or less, but I never expected the opera house to be the CIC, ever!
Well, it was in this incarnation. The Opera House was when this had all happened before on Cobol. In the new incarnation it was the CIC. Because it had all happened before and would all happen again... or will it?
Tori! Thank God someone finally killed you!
As soon as we knew they were all going to know about one another, you had to know that it was going to go badly. And she deserved what she got. That was one death I was happy to see.
Cavil….you killed yourself?
That one took me totally off guard. I did not see that one coming AT ALL.
Baltar…you grew a pair at last. I liked the little reunion with Caprica Six. She’s been all redeemed more or less.
This was a happy ending I didn't see coming, but I liked it. The series started with them together and ended with them together. And I liked the bookended redemption that gave us.
Kara, wtf are you????? An angel?
After Baltar's speech in the CIC and the appearance of Head!Six and Head!Baltar, I took it that she was an angel. And did Sam know this? Remember his comment 'I'll see you on the other side'? It's like he knew that she wasn't corporeal. But I felt bad for Lee there, left all alone in the field. Father gone. Starbuck gone. He really is making a fresh start.
Helo! I thought you were dead!
ME TOO! For sure I thought he was dead, so it was nice to see him again and to see Athena looking whole again as a family unit with Hera.
Head!Six and Head!Baltar, you are angles from doesn’t like to be called god saving humanity over and over again? Really?
It was an interesting end. And I loved the bit that Hera might be 'Eve', the mitochondrial mother of the human race. That was a nice twist.
And did you see Ron Moore in that scene in the end with Head!Six and Head!Baltar? He was the one reading the newspaper.
And what's up with 'Caprica'? I thought it was going to be a series, but now it's a DVD coming out in a month? Huh? I thought this was going to fill my BSG void, but maybe not??
First of all, let me say that I really expected everyone, or almost everyone to die. And was mightily and pleasantly surprised that they didn't. This is BSG after all. We expect death and gloom, and this was a surprisingly happy ending. Yes I was sure more people were going to die, and was completely shocked it didn’t happen!
Because it had all happened before and would all happen again... or will it? And if it does will we get another tv show out of it???
Cavil….you killed yourself?
That one took me totally off guard. I did not see that one coming AT ALL.
I read that in the original finale script Tigh was supposed to kill him, but Dean Stockwell lobbied for the suicide instead.
. But I felt bad for Lee there, left all alone in the field. Father gone. Starbuck gone. He really is making a fresh start. I’m so glad I didn’t have a lot of energy vested in being a Lee/Kara shipper, or I would have been just heartbroken!!!!
For sure I thought he was dead, so it was nice to see him again and to see Athena looking whole again as a family unit with Hera. I was so sure he was a gonner before the episode even started, that whole sacrifice yourself so save your offspring thing…also I trust scifi in general and this show not at all when it come to killing off the really “good guy” character! I was so relieved he was fine, more or less, even if I didn’t understand it!

And did you see Ron Moore in that scene in the end with Head!Six and Head!Baltar? He was the one reading the newspaper. I only caught it because one of my friends I ams AIM watching with pointed it out to me!
And what's up with 'Caprica'? I thought it was going to be a series, but now it's a DVD coming out in a month? Huh? I thought this was going to fill my BSG void, but maybe not?? As I understand it DVD of extended premier coming out in April, actual premier and show starts in, maybe January 2010 in SciFi…excuse me SyFy (gag).
All in all I am still not sure whether or not I liked the episode. Mostly the reviews/meta I read either loved it or hated it, but I’m still mulling it over!
And if it does will we get another tv show out of it???
Ha! We could be so lucky! Although your info about 'Caprica' makes me feel considerably better.
All in all I am still not sure whether or not I liked the episode.
I definitely liked it. I know it's a dark show, but it ended on a happy note and I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Had everyone died, I wouldn't have liked it nearly so much...
