it was all so exciting. i got my photo taken with mary poppins as soon as we arrived - which was awesome. there was definitely an english theme - alice and the mad hatter, peter pan and wendy, mary poppins and burt. the parade was fun with a 'celebration street party' along the route. and the fireworks! sooo amazing! julie andrews voice over man! i bought a few little presents - some tinkerbell charms for my cousins, a gorgeous mary poppins mug for me and some magnets. i also got a fantasia holographic postcard for my cousins!
on thursday amanda took me to santa barbara which is north of los angeles and is soooo pretty - all white and pink stucco buildings with the red tile rooves. i found the most awesome retro shop i've ever been in - retroville - google it people! i maybe bought something for someone there.. and a gorgeous halter dress for me!
i spent last night with a lovely girl i met on couchsurfing. we had dinner on thursday and then last night i went to her semi regular karaoke night at her friend's place. margaritas, tacos and loud singing - awesome. i stayed at her place and met her kitties - well one of them, the other one i only met in the middle of the night when he slept on my feet! he's shy. definitely a great first couch surfing experience!
so universal studios tomorrow and then santa monica tues and back to san fran on wed! busy busy!
