christmas eve
So... Twas the night before christmas
and the house smells like pork
wirh an entree of prawns and an afters of port...
mum and i made fresh garlic prawns from scratch and mum baked some vegies while i cooked bbq pork from my new Jamie Oliver cook book. We used the left over garlic sauce on the cauliflower and it was all DELICIOUS, and accompanied by pink champagne!

I have to do some sewing tonight though! uh-oh!
the tree is up and trimmed - mum and i drove to coromandel valley to a xmas tree farm to get one - it's about 5 foot - shorter than i normally like, but absolutely beautiful and bushy and pine-smelly!
Lilah keeps chewing it XDXD and ruby is sleeping under it.
Lilah is fitting in really really well. Hugo has growled at her (and everyone else) and chased her a bit, but hasn't attacked her really. And lilah's even hissed back! she's all - I'M NOT DOiNG ANYTHING WRONG STUPID GRUMPY PANTS!!. so cute. She's absolutely FASCINATED by Ruby, but hasn't talked to her yet. She goes up and watches her when she's still. and ruby won't meet her eyes! soo adorable.
Binka has pretty much permanently plonked herself on my (new double) bed (with the gorgeous new bedspread) and occassionally makes forays to the scratching post and the food bowl.
Everything is all set for tomorrow - stuffing recipes ready, recipes for carrot soldiers and red onion gratin (ala Jamie Oliver), potatoes and sweet potatoes ready to be peeled and cut, beens and snap peas, a turkey and a ham, not to mention murray valley cream for cherry brandy sauce to go with the pud.

oh and glace fruit, nuts, butter cookies, normies and sundry nummies.
I will be a stuffed piglet tomorrow night!
I actually have no idea what i'm getting for once! which is nice, although most of it is from my list (according to mum) so yay!
also, i am completely UNABLE to go christmas shopping without buying stuff for myself. So I've bought The Holiday ($13), Casino Royale ($13), Thank God You're Here 3 ($36 - on Dad's tab lulz), A pair of silver shoes (so kitch, btu totally awesome - $19), some Kayser underwear (25% off) and a maxi dress i need to take in a little bit ($30) So all totally viable, but not actually NECESSARY lol.
