ok, so i've been SHOCKING about updating... so quickly...
Show went swimmingly well in Como, but without swimming lol. We had really good crowds, got a good review on melbourne stage online, great feedback and a had a ball, even on those two stinking hot days.
Mt Martha went well, although the cast weren't particularly fond of the space and we had to cancel one show due to rain.
The wind down there was FREEZING, so we were happy to say goodbye to it really. Crowds weren't as big, but not too bad.
The drives there and back were interesting.
Have discovered Trev (Demetrius) and I are not the greatest combination of travelling companions. he's just totally RANDOM AND WEIRD and i don't know how to react to him which makes me snappish. Have discovered Liam (Lysander *sigh*) and i make GREAT travelling companions despite his right wing (*gasp*) tendancies. Apparently he's also very christian, but i haven't noticed it in a negative way, or at all really.
There was much hilarity on various car trips, but i can't recount it all now, just know it involved competition and a vast amount of swearing. :D
On the Sunday after the show a few of us headed to Bridie O'Reilly's for drinks. I was taught, on that fateful occasion, to play Briscola. It's technically a sort of Italian Whist I suppose, but I think of it as Italian Dirty Bridge on Crack and I FRIKKING LOVE IT!
After we got kicked out of the pub at closing, Glenn (Puck), Kate (Helena), Youarn (Producer) and I went back to Youarn's and drank beer, ate chips andplayed until 5am. Haven't stayed up that late in a while. OMG SO MUCH FUN. It's like, you're SUPPOSED to cheat if you can. Best with four, but can be played with three or five.
So then on Tuesday i did a belly dancing for five years olds. it was fun... no really. but completely unplannable. chaotic. insane. lol. and i get paid for it!
I also found out Tues that Justin can and will direct A View of Concrete for the Adelaide Fringe... so that's one sigh of relief.
On Tues night got back to Adelaide, where i have spent an inordinate number of hours in shops...
Had lunch with Nic on Thurs at Alfonso's... Linguine Vongole.... NUMMY!
Last night Nett and Nic came around for dinner here... Hilarity ensued.... Nett has got me the best present...hehe. It's an awesome neck cushion. but i can't unwrap it til monday of course. Nic's awesome present was also delivered last night. Kenwood Multipro. Food Preparation here I come! Won't go back to melb until march with the car though! but i do want to try making a juice with the juicer attachment... see if i've finally worked out the recipe for the South American Delight at Tropicana!
So... we're having a weird-not-quite-sure-what-we're-doing xmas day and then proper family xmas on boxing day... so i will try and attend ali's boxing day party afterwards (though NO ONE OFFER ME FOOD!!)
I am also going to have a New Year's Eve brekky since i'm heading back to melbourne at one in the afternoon. We're thinking the store since everyone knows they like something there and it's close to nett and just plain AWESOME. I need to know numbers so i can book, so let me know asap!
