I'm seriously beginning to think my play is just not meant to be a feature at the melbourne fringe.
Despite getting an AWESOME venue in a last minute reprieve, things are just not looking promising in terms of having a cast, let alone rehearsals or a set.
I haven't given up or anything, I'm just, well anxious.
Which seems to be a permanent state for me.
Whoever said that stress was workrelated clearly needs to observe more unemployed people.
Had a lovely weekend with the folks.
Nic's bday on Friday night which was a CHOCOLATE FEAST!
It may just be possible that there is such a thing as too much chocolate...
Nic totally spoiled us with a dinner at the Chocolate Bean...
- Cocktail (Nett and I shared a chocnutstrawberry martini and a toblerone)
- Salad with Chocolate Balsamic dressing
- Either Duck breast with chocolate cointreau sauce OR Lamb with chocolate chilli sauce
- A hot chocolate/mocha/chocolate tea/coffee of size and flavour of choice (I shared a small rose choc with nett and had a small chilli cherry for myself)
- A chocolate tart (I asked for a quince and macadamia and was given a fig and almond -fig, nic? really?- but mum swapped with me) and 2 truffles
- A box of take home truffles.
- Not to mention the Ashton Hill sparkling rose and the Peter Lehman Mentor.
Saturday was spent with my American cousins (no literally) and my various other family members. The cousins also arrived in melbourne today so i will see them here too. Sat arvo was spent at Cleland patting numerous kangaroos. Jade and Erica were there and were delightful as always :D
Sunday we had brunch at the store (suprise) and for the first time EVER I could not find something on the menu i wanted! So I negotiated and ended up with exactly what i wanted which was mostly fruit... An Apple and Cinnamon dumpling with poached pears and berries.
All capped off with dinner at my grandmother's last night.
Was then woken up by a phone call (which I didn't answer, no message, no number) at FIVE AM!!!
Followed up by a wrong number at 7am.
O_O

Said goodbye to mum at 9 and hello to boo at 2. Boy is she happy to see me!
