"Everytime I see your face, it reminds me of the places we used to go. But all I got is a photograph, and I realize you're not coming back anymore."
How can you miss someone so much when you didn't REALLY know them until after they had gone? What do you do when you realize how important they were, but that you won't be able to learn anything from them anymore?
"And if I say I really knew you well, what would your answer be if you were here today? You'd probably laugh and say that we were worlds apart, if you were here today."
You feel that because they are gone, that they are lost from you. You no longer have them with you. That they were taken from you. But this is untrue.
"Your song will play on without you, and this world won't forget about you. Every part of you was in your song, now we will carry on... never without you... within you, without you."
The only thing you can do is embrace what they've left. And even though the fact that there is a distinct temporal end point to everything they've left, it really isn't a small amount. The knowledge and emotion carry on through every being they've touched. You can't lose this, you must keep it. Otherwise they become lost.
You must remember their ideals, what they fought for, what they stood for. You have to imagine the world they dreamed it would someday be. They will carry on through everyone that they loved and that loved them.
Remember and imagine...
I wonder if you can.
