When I was 5 I went and visited my Uncle in Katherine, NT for two weeks. Finals were approaching and he is a staunch Port Magpies supporter (the SANFL team that dominated the competition for over a decade and the forerunner to the AFL Port Power team. For the two Saturdays and Sundays while I was staying at his stilt-raised home, Uncle Robert would tell everyone to either shutup or nick off and he and I would lie in the two hammocks under the house and watch the games on the TV. Come half-time he would ask me to go to the bar fridge and I would put a stubby in a holder for him and get a can of Woodrooffe's lemonade (best lemonade in Australia) for myself. Port won both matches we watched and both times Robert took me out on the front lawn and we danced in the sprinkler singing the club song.
With your love of the team and family history, Kahlil will fast catch on and Hamish will be only steps behind!

Our friend made Kahlil a member of Essendon and he got a first birthday card signed by Robert Hird. But membership expired and I since purchased a Carlton footy jumper and raincoat. His "grandma" who lives with my Dad also barracks for Carlton, so the maternal influence will undoubtedly settle the matter.
