It sure was a BIG DAY OUT!!
I woke up at 5am in order to get ready.. Nicole, Lena and I had to get the train from Oxley to Roma Street to Helensvale then the shuttle to BDO. The queue was massive, but we were only in line for about 30 minutes and got inside the gates 15 minutes early. The first thing we saw was a group of giants on stilts who chased us through the gates. We walked around for a while before meeting up with Ainsley.
The first band I saw was Faker, and we were up against the second barrier so we had a good view, and it wasn't too packed yet. We watched Gerling for a couple of songs before heading up to check out The Greenhornes, Youth Group and The Subways, all of which were very good. The drummer of The Subways had the best body I've ever seen! After that we headed down to the main stages to see Wolfmother, but ended up walking off because they were delayed due to technical problems (lots of rain on the Coast recently). Saw all of End of Fashion which was lots of fun.
Kings of Leon were amazing! We had occasional good views, and a very generous drunk let me sit on his shoulders for about 4 or 5 songs! Being short, I was very grateful, and could see over the entire BDO! Watched the Living End from the hill to rest up for FRANZ FERDINAND!! MOTHER OF GOD, THEY WERE FANTASTIC! I am in love. I can't describe how much I enjoyed seeing them.. got to sit on another person's shoulders for a couple of songs.
Theeen I saw the Mars Volta who were amazing, and absolutely haunting. Iggy Pop was okay, I didn't like him as much as I thought I would. Finished with White Stripes who were extremely average except for My Doorbell and 7 Nation Army.. I can't believe they were headliners! FF were SOO much better.

Not-so-highlights:
- Losing my phone.. ahh crap!
- Some stoned guy chewing on my sleeve.. twice
- My feet were swollen and I was forced to limp
- Sara refused to leave when we were meant to.. grr
- I smelled like sweat, bundy, weed and mud
