I feel like God is smiling on me today and saying, 'Don't give up. You are loved.' (And he's got a very able, worthy mouthpiece in the voice of Josh...)
Walking out of the Borders in Downtown Crossing (I love that place, incidentally) with my pretty, my precious copy of 'Awake' (and a biography on Sandra Day O'Connor), having duly resisted the temptation of a book called 'Darcy's Story' and Jeff Shaara's latest book, I ran into none other than Deval Patrick, the future governor of this wonderful commonwealth (*knocks on wood*). And even more fortuitously, among the rallying crowd was this tall, Asian man who struck me as familiar and then I realized why-- he looked like new Korean Boston City Councilman Sam Yoon (who's one of the people I'd like to work for). I hesitated, debated, wondered and then he stepped up to greet Deval Patrick who greeted him familiarly and I took the chance and asked him after I shook hands with Deval myself, if he happened to be Sam Yoon. And he was! So we had a nice talk of a few minutes- he said he'd just been looking over my resume yesterday and he'd be meeting with his advisors about new staff positions in the new year sometime next week, now that the pre-election insanity is over. All in all, Sam Yoon impressed me; he was open and friendly and articulate-- he's obviously intelligent. He's also really quite a good-looking young man (so say I, about this man who's probably about 15 years older than me, at least.) So, *crosses fingers and hopes*. Hopefully, this serendipitous meeting will stick in his mind and give me a bit of a personal edge, if nothing else.
Now, I'm off to vote!
But, before I do that and most importantly for this post, SQUEEEEEEEEEEE over the awesomeness of Josh!! *thrills, swoons, dies*
