OK so I haven’t updated my journal in a while…Sorry. Well the reason is not much has changed, the weather is still terrible. Even though we have set a record for the warmest January since 1820, it sure hasn’t seemed like it. The weather changes so drastically from day to day. We go from weather in the teens and snowing one day to upper 50’s and sunshine the next. It has gotten to the point that you just don’t know how to dress for the day. I even think the animals are confused I actually saw a robin picking for worms in my yard over the weekend, a robin in January now that’s weird. it is better than last year though when we had 18" to 24" of snow the first part of January, and then over 6" rain in the last half. I of cousre prefer SUNSHINE!
I have gotten a few e-mails and calls from Cabrina, and as usual she is having a wonderful time. They were in Bangkok and then traveled to some small unknown town I can't spell or pronounce the name of. This where she said she had the most wonderful time of her entire journey. They went to a deserted island. I assume it must have been deserted after the tsunami last year. She said there were a few huts still around but no people. They stayed on this island for a few days living like Gilligan, picking fruit to eat and eating fresh oysters off the beach, and sleeping in the abandoned huts on the beach. She said it was incredible. That is something I would love to do, to be able to test my own survival instincts, to pull a Tom hanks like in castaway. Not for 4 years though but a month or two. I actually wanted to tryout for Survivor they were in Indianapolis last week and I couldn't get to the city to audition. How cool would that have been. All though I am kind of a boring person, and they look for those people that have weird quirks to add a little spice to the show. Anyway back to Cabrina. She hasn’t updated her journal in a few weeks and says she sorry, that’s only because they haven’t had the time to take care of it. She is still coming home on the 19th, and I can’t wait.
I speak to Brian every day the fact that his company set up satellite numbers for them to use really is convenient. He is doing well, all though they have re-located him to another camp not far from Baghdad and of course closer to the terrorist attacks. He says he hears the mortars going off around him all the time and on a few occasions felt they were close enough that he dropped to the ground. He says he is doing what ever it takes to stay safe. He will only be on this camp for a short while, then he will return to his previous camp. As I have said he is a smart man and I know he will be safe, doesn’t stop me from worrying though. I have had to tell him to stop telling me about the close calls, it just stresses me out way too much. It’s gotten so that if he doesn’t call I stress myself out and think the worst. So its better that he not talk about it.
Well we booked our hotel and my flight, Brian is working on booking his flight from Dubai. We will be in ARUBA! on the 19th. Time to play and have fun in the sunshine but mostly relaxation. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree Resort. It is one of those all-inclusive places. I have never stayed in an all-inclusive resort, but I guess all our meals, drinks, activities, and some entertainment are all included. So there will definitely not be a lack of a good time on this vacation.
So much coming up in the next few months I am feeling so anxious, timeis moving way to slow, but at my age that’s a good thing.
Love
