A Voice for Men Conference

To Whom it May Concern At Hilton Worldwide:

I completely understand a business' need for profit in the Detroit area. I have family in Detroit and we visit for reunions. Some of my in-laws have struggled for years because they cannot find work. My father-in-law would love to move back to Detroit and spend time with his aging/dying family members, but he can't find work there. That being said, what long-term cost is the Downtown Detroit DoubleTree/Hilton willing to pay for short term profit?

I'm assuming that the hotel knew nothing about the Men's Rights Activists (MRA), otherwise they might have not booked a hate group. (The Southern Poverty Law Center has named numerous MRA groups as hate groups.) After today's flurry of social media activity (hashtag #NoMRA), I assumed that someone at Hilton took the time to research and vet this group. I was hoping that the Doubletree would rethink their position given this new information.

I'm utterly disappointed by Hilton's response to the public's concern. I sincerely fear for the safety of Hilton's employees during this conference. It is very sad to see that Hilton Worldwide condones the aggressive and dangerous behaviors of this group in the name of “inclusivity”. Would Hilton then allow KKK groups or pedophile groups to congregate in their hotels in the name of “inclusivity”?

I have notified my Michigan relatives of the protest against this conference. I plan to let anyone and everyone know about Hilton's decision and unless Hilton retracts this response, I will never stay in a Hilton hotel again.
