Fate?

Fate. Is fate genuine, or is it another fallacy that we are conned into believing to be fact? The disconcerting feeling that looms over us of not knowing whether it is "fate" that we will fall in two steps or that tommorrow we will meet someone perfect, but nothing can be done to allow it to work out between the two of you, no matter what you do, or what flawless plan you develop to counter what is said to be "fate". I do believe that there are some events that no matter what we try or how we react and mold the outcome they will happen. One of these is death; I honestly believe that you will die when its your time and theres nothing you can do. However morbid or pessimistic it might sound, death is inevitable and there is nothing that can be done to put it off. You can say "Well, if they weren't there, then..." all you wish, but even if "they" were somewhere else, they still would have died, just in a different way and in a different place, but nonetheless "they" would die at the same time. But then again, there are some things that I think we do have some degree of control over, because if we had zero control and everything was already planned out, then what would be the point? Now, with this question as with all, controversy will arise and some will say "fate is complete crap" while others will maintain that "fate rules our lives". The truth is that I nor anyone besides God knows if "fate" does indeed exist and if so how much it of a role it plays in our lives.
