Its Saturday!

Since my decision to start a weekly blog, I'm posting on Saturday.
So from now on I will try to post every Saturday.
For my first official weekly post I went with writing about my book. Which isn't finished yet.

So about this novel...
Well...
I think it’s a very good novel.
I wrote it after all.

One piece of writing advice I’ve learned is to write the story you want to read. And this novel already has everything I want to read!
Another I’ve heard from somewhere is to ‘write what you know’. If that were the case, then I probably live in a fantasy world, no reality. Which is probably completely ducking true in my case.

Though I am well into the second draft, most of the content is working titles. Including the...title itself.
After much thinking I figured I needed to name the series/saga ect. I didn’t want to name it after the first character, I wanted something more interesting since this story is about more than the first character. I couldn’t name it after the world I created because it’s pretty much like our own world. Alright it is our world, just with my own layered on top. After much thinking I settled on a number. One. One is one of my favourite numbers. But I did not name the book simply after the number one. I named it after the very concept, the very essence of One itself.
You could ask me “When you name the series ‘One’, what ‘One’ are you referring to?”
I am referring to many Ones.
One refers to uniqueness, as in, there is only one of you created by El.
One refers to everything. The universe itself. One is the name El gave to the universe he created. One.
One refers to Sam, the main character. Chosen as one by El.
One refers to El itself. The mighty supreme being, there has only been one. El is the past present and future. El was there long before our world was created, long before anything existed but El itself. Ancient. No-one knows what happened before that moment but El itself. Will El ever tell what happened? Only El knows. With no beginning, El sat in the Nothing talking to itselves. Back then it’s three consciousnesses referred to itself as ‘I am’ or just simply ‘One’.
One also refers to the novel series itself. As a title.

The first novel to launch the series: Terror. Or The Terror if that works better.
Samuel Smith is an orphan, 17 nearing his 18th birthday. He lives in a small flat in Auckland with a University student named Ben.
Not too far towards his birthday he discovers his long lost family he had never known. There he discovers that he is involved in secrets and hidden powers that control the world and many important things long forgotten by humankind.
