I've reached a more depressing part of the book, with her talking in detail about the revolution and how she was ousted from her class, marginalized, etc. I just can't believe people still fall for these stupid promises! That they'll believe "we can't focus on our own rights until we get rid of all those Bad people (whoever they are)." And yet, is that not sort of what's happening here? Scary.
"Peace is our profession."
Learned a lot more about The Great Gatsby than I ever did by reading it in high school though. :-) Like, that it had a point.
So, to get away from torture and intelligent people being stupid and cruel, I took a quick spin through Good Omens. Despite some annoying bits, I do love that book. I think it's mostly characters that you're supposed to think are adorable that I just don't that are annoying. Like Shadwell. Though he does rather remind me of
funranium. You know, in a good way. And my mom finds the cute kids who can't say their g's properly intensely annoying. But anyway, an excellent book. Crowley is my favorite.
