Eleanor stayed at the babysitter's last night, and Bev had class today. So I went to get Eleanor. I actually made it over there before 10:00, which I thought was pretty good. Eleanor and I went up to the mall. We had a good time in the car listening to
Car Talk and playing. As I was driving, Eleanor asked me for a baby wipe, and she started cleaning her shoes.
Eventually, we made it to the mall. We walked around a bit, and finally got up to the Borders. I picked up
On the Oceans of Eternity, the next book in the
Nantucket series (click for samples) by S. M. Stirling that I've been reading (which is really good), the soundtrack to Avenue Q (which is also pretty good), and an Eberron source book (I'm really jonesing for some role playing).
Eleanor started getting tired, so we came back home. I laid her down for a nap. I surfed the internet and considered the Tao of Solitaire while listening to Avenue Q (I love show tunes, even through I'm not gay).
Speaking of Avenue Q, last night it seemed odd to go to a show about hope, liberalism, and homosexuality, and then drive back to my slightly backwards county where I work in an extremely conservative sheriff's office. The soundtrack is definitely going on my playlist for my work computer. I thought about using "Everyone is a Little Bit Racist" for our upcoming sexual harassment class (Would that be bad?).
Well, I'm off to read a little bit and doze until Eleanor thinks I should get up.
