Slumday
The day has flown by. Don't feel like much has been accomplished. I am trying to do some laundry now since I have to go to the Meat Packer tomorrow, my usual laundry day.
We had lunch with the BIL and Gayle after joining them for a session at the cat cafe. We needed to stop at their place after to pick up more of his plants he wants us to keep here while they try getting their place baby ready. Who knows where all these plants are going to go. I'll have to unload them out of the Jeep in the morning before I leave. Too lazy to do so right now.
The Sparrow is downstairs working on our Christmas gift project. We decided to make some gaudy picture frames to give to a few people. He has been on me to start working on them since July. Creatively, I just can't work that way. I need to be in the zone, so to speak, in order to do artistic things. It's been a long weekend, we've barely been home, it is Sunday afternoon and work is looming. This is the absolute worst time to attempt to do anything crafty.
The weather has been decent but I've not really taken advantage of any of it to do stuff outside. I think it is partially due to the damn mower never starting, even with the battery charger thing that was recommended hooked to it constantly.
I didn't sleep well last night, which also affected motivation today. My stomach was just gurgling and churning from the half dozen expresso martinis. Not from the booze, but from that chocolate sauce in them. My body was crying out for justice, asking why I put so much of that poison in me.
We did decide on a couch for the living room. I ended up finding the very site I'd purchased the original from years ago, and the prices were not bad. They are having their Black Friday sale, which I believe is when I got the original one.
There were several we really liked, one having wooden sides, back and bottom which would be excellent for deterring the cats. But as it always goes, we have expensive tastes and that one was over $1400. We just can't justify the cost when there's potential it will be destroyed. So we are picking a slightly different style to the original which is only $699. I should probably order it tonight so we have a chance of getting it before Thanksgiving.
