Dare To Be Stupid
I had some texts from the Covid crazy accounting chick at the place in Niles before 7 AM this morning. (I really should think of a name for this place after over a decade). She first didn't know what password to put in for the VPN sign-in. Then she was getting an error that VERY clearly said to check her Internet. But, instead of checking her Internet she chose instead to just be helpless and immediately text me an image of the error message.
People refuse to think. They CHOOSE not to think. They don't want the responsibility of thinking. I wonder if she even read the error message, or just saw "an error" pop up and immediately took a picture and waited for me to respond. It wasn't a complicated error, it specifically stated that "no Internet" was a potential cause for her not being able to connect.
People this stupid shouldn't be allowed to live. But, they do live... among us. They are everywhere. They are the majority. They vote. They decide things for larger swaths of society. They have opinions they think are correct. They feel righteous and justified in their existences. They cannot see how stupid they are.
It's not my job to "interpret" an error message that states the obvious when you work at a company that cries and moans about every bill we send you. They will piss and moan about the cost of my time to "decipher" this message and tell them how to solve their basic problems. My time *is* valuable. And it does cost more to contact me after hours. Even if I don't connect to your machine or do anything else but tell you the solution. Even that costs money. And rightfully so.
I don't want to think about work after hours. I don't want to do anything for my job on a Saturday morning or a Friday night or whenever that doesn't fall within the usual workday. There are no freebies when you bother me. And you are a bother, rest assured of that. I may act nice to your face, but that is all because I need my paycheck. Behind your back, I laugh at how stupid you are. When you tell me your political opinions I am secretly cracking up because I know how dumb you are in every other aspect of your life. I tell my friends how you can't read a basic message a modern ten-year-old could figure out.
If people like this lady realized how dumb they were, it might make a real difference in the world. Maybe she wouldn't have been wearing masks long after the Covid farce had ended, had she the ability to even slightly think critically. Maybe her life in general wouldn't be as hard as it is if she used that brain in her head.
But, she doesn't want the responsibility of doing that.
