Murphy's Law School

Today was a nightmare, as it should have been expected to be. When a client gives you about a week and a half notice they are moving there's only one way to go... down.

In reality it shouldn't have been a big deal. Everything they do is web-based so really all they needed today was the Internet. Of course, thanks to Comcast Business, they did not get that. Oh, I had an email yesterday saying a tech was going to be there this morning. I had met with the pre-tech on Thursday and he assured me someone would be in touch. But, obviously there was only one outcome... that being that no one anywhere is ever expected to do the job they say they are going to.

On a positive note, I found a parking garage right across the street that I knew of years and years back, when we had this other little doctor client right on the same street that has long since closed his doors. So, I didn't have to walk all over the city getting from a garage with space to the clinic.

Their server was quite literally about 14 years old and there's no reason the thing should even still function but it had been. And we've wanted to either get them a new one or get rid of this one for half a decade. This move was the perfect opportunity. Yet, it seems some minor functionality was lost in doing so. As hard as I can, I will try to push them to just forget about said functionality or find another solution themselves.

The new suite they moved into was still a complete disaster. They share it with this other doctor who does plastic surgery and botox. I'd never remembered seeing her before today and I had to laugh to myself when I did. Even before I get to that, she is this pretentious, Gold Coast white bitch who spent the entire morning looking down on me and my receptionist contact there who is black. Just the way she spoke to her I could hear the tones of the antebellum south.

But, back to the fact that she runs this spa for making women "beautiful" by hacking up their faces and injecting them with poisons. It is ironic because this woman was a huge blob. Her ass was so fat it had visible craters you could see through the pants, like the surface of the moon.

And the main doctor for the clinic I help wasn't even there today. She was at some bullshit conference. Of course, we all know she simply was avoiding the physical labor involved with unpacking stuff. It's always seemed that she desperately wants to be a part of the clique of these other doctors. Not only Kong Ass but also these other ones that work at this spa whose faces look like they've been sucking lemon juice off a smelly homeless person's balls. Grotesque creatures all.

On top of the stress of trying to get them to be able to work tomorrow temporarily without Internet, I also had yet ANOTHER three hour commute home. Both last Thursday and now today when I've gotten onto 55 from Lake Shore Drive the exit onto 90/94 has been backed up ONTO 55. I've never seen traffic that bad before just getting on 90/94. And 55 was no better, as it immediately ground to a halt as you came around the curve... of course.

Every route in every direction is under construction. And I am way beyond believing it is all just a coincidence. They know they are fucking millions of people every day... that's why they do it.

On the plus side... we finally got a huge load of mulch. Now I just need the time to start shoveling it.

Last night we watching the 2006 remake of 'The Omen'. I had much to say about it then and still do, but I am not in the mood right now for it. So, I'll save that commentary for another day.
