As I turned 36 this weekend I continued to have some realizations as I have in excess since this past winter. The weekend's realization is that my friends and I are awful people. But, it's no longer "awful funny" or "awful edgy"... it's just awful and it's an embarrassment

And trust me, they will never call you to get together.
Yea, Rockwell was going on about that Thursday night too. There's no point in even discussing 98% of any of the world's topics with him because he'll fly into a rage. Brad who was with us heard him ranting about the friend of yours when he first walked up and he was like "oh gurlllll..... he has had too much to drink"... He's just seeing that's how he's like all the time.
Meh, I'm not much for sports... I like intellectual pursuits lol... I used to love reading books and talking about them, but barely anyone I know wants to talk about the subjects I'm interested in.
I could get a scooter and join the gay scooter gang.
And yea, of course I only write about the critical topics out here LOL!
But, branching out is something to consider. I can think about it in July, once I'm done with the month long Pride party ordeal LOL! Which I am very meh about right now, because I don't even care to invite half the people I normally do.

Yup they most likely will not be calling or putting effort in and I'm more than okay with that. I may still add them to the game night invites just as a private joke to myself but we'll see what I feel like doing when we finally get this house in entertainment shape again. I used to invite Hector all the time because I knew what would happen. "OH YES I'M EXCITED I'LL COME! I'LL EVEN BRING xxxxxx" game night would come and go with no call no show.
Oh you're reminding me Rockwell etc got into a discussion about abortion and I started to give my philosophy (which is basically there's stuff to say for and against it but ultimately just use friggin' birth control and it's a non-issue! But there are good reasons to have the legal right to it available) He kept cutting me off because he didn't want to hear anyone say there could be arguments against it. ;-) It's like talking to my ultra conservative family. Being middle of the road makes political discussions hard.
I should invite him to a game night with my friend and watch the sparks fly. At least our grill is an infrared grill so the burger meat can't fall between the . . . Spokes? Whatever they're called.
I still think you might enjoy a few week boot camp nutritional course. ;-) That said though . . . There aren't any book groups to your liking in Lakeview? What topics and books would you want to do? Maybe there's a niche that's unfilled and needs to be. To Craigslist!!!
Scooters look fun but . . . I wouldn't want to ride in anything that doesn't give protection on all sides with the drivers we have here. A Smart Fortwo is as small as I'll go.
As for your Pride party . . . Don't feel obligated to invite anyone you don't want to. Don't even feel obligated to have it! It's your life and you can choose who you want in it.

For the cost of membership we just cancelled satellite and if there's something on TV we want to watch we go to the gym and get on a treadmill or elliptical. They all have individual LCD TVs with cable. Just plug your headphones in and you're good to go.
The locations close to you are
FFC East Lakeview - 3657 N. Pine Grove
FFC Halsted Street - 3228 N. Halsted
I usually bounce between the Halsted, Union Station and Gold Coast locations depending on what I'm doing.
I've stuck more with Halsted lately because my trainer is there and our permanent locker is there. I need to get back in to Union Station in the mornings for cardio. Gold Coast is my favorite by far (the new Presidential Towers location might take that place) it's like walking into a spa. Aside from the full spa services there's an indoor pool, hot tub/steam room/sauna in the locker room, rooftop deck, cafe . . . Oh yeah and they have weights and cardio machines too. ;-)
