Hmmm...it's been about a year, eh? What a year...

It's been around a year since I finally decided to end what had become an increasingly negative relationship (was sometime in Sept. or Oct.). And now I'm looking back on the year since. In that time I've:

* Completed a half marathon, along with about a dozen shorter races.
* Gone skydiving.
* Gone luging.
* Seen NIN, Korn, BB King, Live, Collective Soul, and They Might Be Giants in concert.
* Seen Wicked, along with various smaller productions and a show at Second City.
* Visited Louisville, Minneapolis/St. Paul, NYC, Baltimore, and the Amish Country, along with making plans to go to San Francisco and Seattle before the New Year.
* Started taking classes at Northwestern to advance my career.
* Advanced my career.
* Tried Ecuadorean, Peruvian, Filipino, Hungarian, Czech/Bohemian, Nigerian, Ethiopian, Guatemalan, and Afghan restaurants, among others.
* Been to 5 baseball games and the MLS (soccer) All-Star Game.
* Become somewhat skilled at Whirlyball.
* Ditto for poker.
* Moved to a nicer, quieter, bigger apartment.
* Gotten in better shape, due to running.
* Joined Mensa
* And much more.

It's certainly been a wonderful and eventful year or so. And it's an understatement to say that I'm in a much better place in life than I was a year ago. Hopefully the next year will be even better.
