There was this:
Part 3.
And all that did was lead to this:
Title: I Know A Girl (And She Puts The Colour Inside Of My World).
Author:
billpickle The morning after the day after that night, he calls her. He's gotten hardly any sleep and every single time he lets his eyes close, he sees her; sees the way she looked at him after he practically pushed her to fall. All this, before she told him she was ready to even think of jumping.
“Hello?”
“You've been avoiding me. You... you won't even talk to me anymore.”
“Booth.”
“Stop it, Bones. Don't do this. Don't push me away, I can't... let this happen... I can't...” He lets his head fall back to his pillow. “Bones, please don't do this. Please don't shut me out. I don't need time... I just need you.”
She doesn't say anything after that and his heart drops to the floor (and down through the road that's beneath his home). There is a second (the first second since he's actually begun to live) where he thinks that his life might be without a Bones.
There's a knock at his door and he flips his phone shut; scrubs his eyes dry and throws on a sweater. Nobody knocks on his door like that-- nobody but her.
The door swings open then and it feels like his whole life just comes crashing back in waves of colour.
“I thought you might be hungry.” She says, with this sad sort of half-hearted, broken smile; brown bags and tinfoil wrapped thai food, invading his senses.
Give and take, right?
