My mom is visiting, so I finally had an excellent excuse to go back to the Retirement Home for Horses. With someone else to help groom, I also had the opportunity to take photos there for the first time. So, without further ado:
These are photos from the
Retirement Home for Horses in Alachua, Florida, where I volunteer grooming rescued and retired horses. It's a wonderful place - no riding, no adopting out. Horses who come here get to live out their days in beautiful pastures, doted on by committed volunteers and visitors. There are about 150 horses there now on about 250 acres.

There are two pastures that are entirely horses that are blind, most of which are Appaloosas:
Rudy may be blind, but he still knows how to ask for carrots!
This old, blind horse is the oldest on the farm: 40 years old! Most of the blind horses tilt their heads and listen carefully when people come by.
