Fan Man Answers!

Earlier, as per meme ettiquette, I invited you all to aks me any fan-type top fives you had in mind.

Of three questions, two were about food.

Not that I'm not a fan of food, mind you - I seriously am.

So here we are.

epiphany said, Because I can't stop thinking about sweets right now, tell me your top five desserts and why you like each one.

Techincally, sweets are kinda off the menu for me, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate and sometimes indulge myself in a nice dessert.

1) French Vanilla Ice Cream. Oh, the creamy, cool, rich, delicious joy of it melting down your throat! Ahhhh....
2) Cheesecake. My sister-in-law makes cheesecakes to die for. They are yummy and full of things that make my doctor unhappy.
3) Sour Cream Pound Cake. Every year, my aunt would make me one for my birthday, and my mom would make one during the summer. Great fresh and hot out of the oven with a little pat of butter melted over teh slice. My cake don't need no frosting!
4) Doughnuts. Okay, not technically a dessert in the classic sense, but nothing beats a nice fresh bag of sucrose and cholesterol. All-Wright Bakery used to make the best around, but they got out of the business, so now I defer o Krispy Kreme (sorry, Duncan Donuts fans).
5) Peanut Butter Pie. Finding this is a rarity, but when it's done right - Mmmmm!

tarpo wants to know Top 5 places to get a really terrible meal

1) Hardee's. For breakfast, they can't be beat. Any other time - ulp. Of particular note are their french fries, which are basically little strips of cardboard in some thick, nasty coating. No. Just - no.
2) Barnhill's Buffet. OK, here's the thing about buffets. You can eat all you want for one price, but the food quality is almost always wobbly. At most places, there are at least one or two dishes you can count on. But at most Barnhill's, you could eat and eat until you were stuffed and still come out feeling very unsatisified, as though you'd eaten a heaping plate full of Generic Food Product.
3) The OC Club on Redstone Arsenal. I only ate there a couple of times, but what sticks out in my mind is the fries (again). They were soaked in Ranch Dressing mix before frying. And I despise ranch dressing. Bleh!
4) Krystal's at the Priceville Exit. Krystal's is usally great. Usually. For an opposing opinion, read this LJ entry.
5) Applebee/Ruby Tuesday's (tie) Applebee's seems incapable of serving a burger that hasn't been roasted to within an inch of being charcoal. However, they do have some decent entrees. Ruby's has a truly impressive salad bar, but they they charge roughly 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 times more for their food, and it's just not worth it.

Finally, jhall1 asked my about me top five favourite characters from the various versions of Star Trek (and yes, bonus marks for noticing "fannish")
1) TOS/AOS - Bones McCoy (narrowly edging Uhura)
2) TNG - Data
3) DS9 - Major Kira Nerys
4) VOY - B'Elanna Torres
5) ENT - Hoshi Sato
