  7. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
  8. Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger
  9. Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary

Top Eleven Shows:
  1. Mogwai - All Tomorrow's Parties, Camber Sands, UK. I'll be shocked if there's a year they play where they don't get top spot, and there's a new album for 2006. I cannot wait for those shows.
  2. The Arcade Fire - Coachella, Indio, CA - There were a lot of amazing performances @ Coachella (British Sea Power, Bauhaus, etc), but this was magic. I've never seen a band connect so perfectly with an audience that big. You could see the band was even freaking out about how perfect it all was.
  3. Wilco - Coachella, Indio, CA - sunset in the desert with "Spiders" playing. Perfect.
  4. New Order - Hammerstein Ballroom, New York, NY - unmarred by the audio problems on the big stage @ coachella, and it was a longer set, with more oldies (Love Vigilantes!). This would have been ranked higher if Anna Matronic hadn't marred it.
  5. Pop Will Eat Itself - Shepherd's Bush Empire, London, UK
  6. The Wedding Present - Middle East, Cambridge, CA - I want to say the brighton UK show @ Concorde 2 so I can be all cool, but the ME show was definitely better
  7. Yo La Tengo - Tonic, New York, NY
  8. Calla - Tonic, New York, NY
  9. Royksopp - Paradise, Boston, MA
  10. Angels of Light/Akron Family - Great Scott's, Allston, MA
  11. Acid Mothers Temple - Middle East, Cambridge, MA

All Shows:150 bands or so. 365 days. Almost a band every other day? Good god. Of course, a couple festivals definitely skewed the numbers higher. There are a couple bands I don't remember - mainly support for certain shows. And there are a few I geniunely can't remember if I saw this year or last year - Psychadelic Furs, BRMC, Stills, Sun City Girls, etc. - but I think this is more or less complete:
