Remus Lupin was standing in the woods that Greyback’s pack was rumored to be living.
Ever since Bill Weasley was attacked Remus wondered if there was a another reason for the attack than the heat of the moment. Bill’s fate was now intertwined with his now and Remus considered it his duty to get Bill the answer that he was entitled to
“Hello pup” called the gravely voice floating from behind the trees
“Hello” replied Remus dully
His “father” stepped out of the woods in black robes that were dirty and torn
Fenrir was still intimidating to him even as an adult
“What do I owe the pleasure?” he asked
Remus looked him in the eye and said “ I am here about Bill Weasley”
“To avenge him?”
“No to ask why” replied Remus quietly
“Why?” echoed Greyback in an disbelieving tone
“I know that it part of werewolf behavior to attack viciously but you were in human form so I have to ask did you attack him to try and get me back?” it was dark but his werewolf senses saw the other wizard’s jaw tighten a sign he realized the truth
“Perhaps I attacked him because he was a friend to get you back, perhaps I attacked him because I was carried away you know thing better than most. Believe what you want to so you can sleep at night.”
As he was walking back to the forest he said “When you are ready to accept who you really are you know were to find me”
