Had coffee with Paulson (which, of course, is cop-speak for: consumed massive amounts of caffeine and fried foods relatively inexpensively due to police officer discount), nattered a bit about what he's got here.
Discussion devolved into something clinical involving the forensic side of things until we were asked nicely to lower our voices, as we were killing the appetites of the other patrons (all 2 of them, at half three in the fucking morning).
I'm still fairly sure the bugger isn't telling me everything he has, but he isn't the only one hedging his bets.
I still haven't told him that I don't think his corpses have anything to do with a serial killer.
Consider:
*10 bodies
*8 crime scenes
*at least 4 M.O.'s
*no geographical relation (so far, anyhow)
*only 1 M.O. appearing at more than 2 separate crime scenes
*Evidentiary support lacking so severely at 4 of the crime scenes that is not only obviously deliberate, but practically screams professional.
*rape present in all cases except the 4 clean crime scenes (questions of morality here, check psych. profiles)
*drugs involved in 3 of the 4 crime scenes with scattered M.O.'s
Things To Do
*find out how these fit together
*hack coroners mainframe (which is proving far more difficult than LAPD's central database - oh the irony) and gank Rena Rembrant's autopsy report (along with any others I can gank)
*wait for Bloom to get back to me
