It was a blissful nine days of slack. So slack, we barely even planned out any slacking. We did some necessary shopping the first couple of days, then some unnecessary shopping after that, via some extra earnings from Danielle's job. Then we... uh... hell. We sat on our asses, played games, had fondue at the Melting Pot, visited my mom, and gleefully discussed the idea of wiping out some of our troublesome debts in the near future. The engagement ring will be paid off before the end of the year just making our regular payments. Our tax returns will clear her credit card, and probably some of mine, though my card is in better shape. The loan for the computers is slowly wearing away, but we got it at a good rate, and that just leaves the student loans.
Have I mentioned how much I dislike debt? At least it looks like we're both getting our year end bonuses, which will also help out.
I hate to say it, but Tim and Brantley got me back into Magic:TG again. Tim taught Brantley how to play, and she took right to it. Then they challenged me. I whupped their sorry butts. I do so regularly, and I've only lost like 3 or 4 games so far. My last blue/white deck was pretty damned good apparently, beating out Tim's sliver and squirrel decks regularly. It's fun having cards so old that people don't recognize them for what they can do until it's too late. Obscure nobody legends and forgotten weenie monsters with useful abilities and stuff like that.
Jay came to visit for a little bit, and brought some DVDs. He insisted on watching some insipid Adam Sandler drivel where Mr. Sandler has to pretend he's gay and married to a man. I have now resolved that if Jay ever brings another DVD with Adam Sandler on it into my home, I am throwing that shit in the microwave.
