After work last night, I decided that, since Tim and Danielle would both be at work several more hours, I would go see a movie by myself. I went to the theatre in the fashion mall down the road. The movie I went to see, The Fountain, wasn't until 7:35. Okay, that would put me home around 9:30-10 o'clock. Tim would've been home only a short while, and Danielle would've been still at work. No worries.
Boy, was that a mistake.
I put my phone on silent to watch the movie. I forgot to take it off silent until I got home, which, after a trip to the grocery store for some stuff put me here at almost 11pm. I get into the bedroom, and think, "Oh, I forgot to turn the phone back on." So I turn it on, and there's several calls, and worse, several terrified voicemails demanding to know where I am. It seems that when Tim came home, he waited about 1 hour before calling Danielle and alluding to her that I had possibly crashed my bike and was bleeding profusely under an overpass somewhere, or that a drunk driver had smushed me, or that I'd been set upon by velociraptors. They had called the police and several hospitals. Danielle left work to come help search for me. At about this time, I was quietly coasting downhill from the Bi-Lo with a bag of cereal, some candy canes, a loaf of rye bread, and a screwdriver set, still oblivious to the storm of terror that I had caused.
It was at least another hour before everything calmed down again.
Meanwhile, in Sanity Land...
The Fountain was a great movie. I loved it. Yeah, it was gratuitously metaphorical, but that is what storytelling is for. However, it really could've done without Homie Dogg sitting three rows behind me, chatting on the phone during the end of the film.
I also picked up Halo 1 the other day. Yeah, I'm always a couple years behind on this stuff. So snipe me.
