Saturday evening in front of the telly...
Normally Bill does all the journal entries 'cos firstly; he understands it so much better than me, but also because I'm usually busy doing stuff and he's just at work...lol.
Today though we were both busy..
We went to the auction last night as we often do on fridays...
The auctioneer Dave and his family have been on their happies so this is the first one there's been in 4 weeks...
We bought a pine book shelf for $10..that's about a fiver to you Brits...
Plus a matching pair of base drawer units...which Dave told us later were originally part of a roll top desk...
They were a little more: $80 or a little under 20 pounds each...
The plan is to use them as a base and on top install an MDF desk top right across the far wall of the room under the window...which is about 10 feet. It will extend at right angles from the wall units/cabinets we bought at Home Depot last week..
Once its all in place the whole lot will get painted a sort of off white...I have exactly decided which *off white* yet...since there are currently 68 paint colour swatches in my desk draw and they're all *off white* !!!!!! and that's without even looking at Benjamin Moore or Farrow and Ball or Para.....
Anyway...today Bill rubbed down the book case and drawer units ready for painting..
I finished painting the skirtings and architraves, which is the job I hate the most 'cos its so fiddly..
We did a big shop at the supermarket, walked the dogs, oh and I forgot to mention the staying in bed til 11:30, snaffling croissants and watching the footie...Charlton/Man U and then Arsenal/Pompey...
Tomorrow, we should be able to get the walls done, put a second coat on the ceiling...and then I think I'll drag him off to the Home Hardware to get the MDF...so all the required pieces are in place for when the units are delivered on Monday..
Then all that will be left to do is to decide which bloody *off white* to paint them..!!!
and with that sobering thought I shall bid you all goodnight..
