4. you're the reason god made oklahoma - shelly west and lefty frizzle
makes me think of nothing but my mom, back when my parents used to listen to country music alot more i remember hearing my dad say how this was the song that made him fall in love with my mom, "everyone's a star here in LA county, you ought to see the things that they do, all the cowboys down on the sunset strip wish that they could be like you."
5. superhero - bane
totally big mo, out of however many times ive seen bane i think all or at least nearly all have been with morgan. this song is SO fucking fun live!!! fucking insanity. bane makes me wish i was straight edge.
6. broken mouth - martyr ad
me josh and evan driving around yellowknife delerious and looking for a place to sleep. one of us had the idea that if we blasted martyr ad as high as the speakers would go then some sheltered hardcore kid in the city would hear and give us cool california dudes a place to sleep. you have to understand the detatched mindset we were in.
7. green hell - misfits
all misfits reminds me of beutiful untouched youth. endless nights speeding around town finding mayhem and excitement. blasting it in parking lots while we got cold sodas on hot summer days before music of this kind became the norm for the majority of paso kids. misfits are the soundtrack of my childhood.
8. subterranean homesick blues - bob dylan
all bob dylan reminds me of big meg, i also sang this song drunk at kareoke one night
9. rockaway beach - ramones
i dont really have a specific memory of this song, its just really good, i put it on the jukebox alot when i find the ramones in bars, this song rocks, oh it just hit me, me and megan started dancing in hollywood video to this song one night when we were picking out a movie, awesome.
10. forget the flowers - wilco
i have no idea why but this song has always made me think of my grandpa
11. damage inc. - metallica
the parking lot after school in highschool, almost crashing on the way to my brothers house after prom night, the white shadow
12. argy baby - cocksparrer
i listened to cocksparrer alot in ventura, me yanni and shelby also sped around slo one night listening to this while en route to fuck up tims plans of getting laid
13. long white caddilac - dwight yokum
dwight closed with this song when i saw him, such a good fun show. mack and tiffer and libby drinking beers and drawing in the sun.
14. anthem - phantom planet
man this song sucks, big meg once told me this song sucked and i argued with her about it, i learned my lesson, ill never doubt you again megs.
15. TNT - AC/DC
mack doty, sitting in busis one night we were watching some old ben hur-esque movie but the sound was off and tnt was playing and somehow the movie was coreographed perfectly with the song.
16. a praise chorus - jimmy eat world
evan had this cd nearly a year before it went big, we listened to it while driving to yellowknife and it grew on me
17. do you wanna roll? - snoop dogg
this used to pay on the radio all the time when i would drive around the ol slo paints truck, reminds me of simple times, working for my brother and living the chill paso life
18. dont fear the reaper - boc
paul and evan and shelby, we were hooked on the stoned age to an unhealthy level, "were gonna fuck em doggy style and shit in their parents bed!!"
19. sing along with the patriotic punks - death by stereo
real nice guys, let me crawl all over the stage to take photos, complimented my shoes
20. memory lane - h20
one of the last great memories i have of jeremy is seeing h20 with him and megan at slims, he was being a butthead and not wanting to go but we went anyway and had tons of fun, arm in arm singing family tree from the pit, fucking epic, i love that we did that.
