So Hubby just ordered the Kindle Fire to replace the very original Kindle that I got him about 3 years ago. I should have researched and waited a bit for it because it wasn't very user- friendly and was not back-lit just to name a couple of complaints.

Now, since the iPad's introduction, I've scoffed and had made an extreme declarative statement that I was boycotting it and all tablets. We have laptops and iPhones with this useless thing being a combination of the two - yet another gadget, another thing to add to your messenger bag and what for?!

Yesterday, I attended the annual PhotoPlus trade show at the Javits Center in NYC. I sobbed when I saw iPads mounted to camera tripods to preview the shot before taken. I wept at how many cameras have these zillions of buttons when with film cameras, there are 3 things you need to set - focus, aperture and shutter speed and to me, makes it easier to concentrate on the image taking. Oops, I digress.

I ran into a friend there and during lunch, she took out her iPad and showed me her latest work. Oooooh....Aaaah. She told me how no one wants to go to websites anymore if you're there with them. Just show them your portfolio on this thing immediately. Now, I'm thinking....

I'm sorry - it's been such a busy week that I haven't had time to answer comments.

When the iPad 2 came out, The Unindicted Co-Conspirator and I got in line at our favorite Apple store. We ended up going away empty handed, but during the time we were in line we were entertained by a boy waiting in line with his mother. He was a remarkable photographer, and he had his whole portfolio there on his iPad 1.

I've already ordered a new one for the Unindicted Co-Conspirator. Shhhh!
