The New Goo Review

Want a new Apple iPhone without having to stand in line at the Apple Store?  Have I got a deal for you!

You can buy a phone that looks just like the iPhone 5.  It's called the GooPhone i5, a knockoff made from exterior design patterns that have leaked from various Apple suppliers and rumor sites over the past few months.

OK, the screen is smaller and not as good. And the internals are definitely not the same. And it doesn't run iOS, it's based on Android.  But the company claims to have already patented the design in China before Apple, and might decide to sue to keep Apple from releasing its clearly infringing iPhone. (Yeah right, and I have a long wall in China to sell you.)

While they claim to have beaten Apple to the patent office, the GooPhone i5 won't actually ship until after Apple's new iPhone.

They claim it features a 1.4 GHz Nvidia quad-core processor, a gig of RAM, a retina display resolution, and an iOS6-themed version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for an operating system.  It's advertised as "Sniper Life," whatever that means.

If you want even more incomprehensible English-style language, enjoy the advertisement below.

To quote Pablo Picasso, as cited by Steve Jobs back in his early Mac days, "Good artists copy, great artists steal."

You can try to pre-order a GooPhone here. Provided you read Chinese.
