Every once in a while, there's a shaft of light that shines through the perpetual nonsense that one witnesses everyday. No matter how optimistic one is, there is not doubt that the world is often fucked up and can really kick you in the nuts. Last night, TV on the Radio was that shaft of light, shining ever so brightly on us lucky people who were smart enough to buy tickets way in advance of this historical show. There's probably 1000 words that I could use to describe it, but they won't catch it, probably won't come close. Vancouver has another 'I was there' for the musical history books. Next to the early Strokes show, the first Bright Eyes show and the time At The Drive-In kicked the hell out of Richards, lies TV on the Radio absolutely smashing their way through 11 songs, all of which showed how tight, fresh, and great they really are.
An amazing night, culminating in some soul chilling slurpees, mixed just the way I imagined. Nice to see that the boys keep the machines spinning at 2:30am.
