Bill hadn't really wanted to wear the Head Boy's badge onto the train that morning but his mother had insisted. Charlie had been amused while Percy couldn't tear his eyes off the thing. Although he hadn't set out to become Head Boy, Bill was proud of his accomplishments and was secure in the knowledge that Dumbledore felt he'd deserved it. The reaction from the majority of his fellow students (appreciative smiles and winks from the girls, thumbs up from the blokes) seemed to indicate the same.
So it was definitely a blow to his ego to overhear the disparaging remark as he passed through one car to another car as he returned to his seat.
"Head Boy? More like Head-Up-His-Arse-Boy if you ask me."
Yes, leave it to Nymphadora Tonks to ruin what should have been one of the best days of his life.

He had never been more terrified in his life. Although he, Bill Weasley: Cursebreaker, had survived countless adventures, broken the most difficult curses and fought unspeakable horrors (both living and undead), he'd never been in a situation like this. Not even close.
His palms were clammy, his mouth dry, his heart pounding in his chest and he could barely remember how to breathe. Still, he reminded himself that he was a Gryffindor and that meant he could do this. No matter what the outcome.
He took another breath and swallowed hard before taking her hand in his, looking her straight in the eye. "D-dora," he stammered, "will you marry me?"
