Obligatory politicking

…I have no hesitation in saying that I have ever considered the constitutional mode of election ultimately by the legislature voting by states as the most dangerous blot in our constitution, and one which some unlucky chance will some day hit, and give us a pope & anti-pope.

--Thomas Jefferson

I am not in love with democracy. I think it is, at best, our most amenable means of suppressing a minority and installing a mediocracy. The alternatives are uglier--our American method might be improved in theory, but for the most part, it seems to be the least of evils and a lost cause.

This is a roundabout way of saying that I totally feel anyone who doesn't think their vote makes a difference, because they are typically correct. But I would remind Virginians that we are voting tomorrow not for pope and anti-pope, but the powers of those figureheads to suppress ourselves, our friends, our lovers, and our children. The mediocre among us are making to change the rights that Jefferson secured for us, and they will likely succeed.

Don't get-out-and-vote-no-matter-what-you-vote-for-just-vote. Vote "NO" down the ballot, because we are constantly smiling and nodding to these motherfuckers as they stab us in the gut.
