My PDO and DisneyGurl's Family and Friends
Today we woke up about 10-ish and got ready to pick up DisneyGurl's brother and his wife at LAX at 12:40p. They are going on a cruse to Mexico for the weekend for her (his wife's) birthday and we volunteered to pick them up from the airport and drop them off at the harbor, thinking we had time to hang out with them. While DisneyGurl was finishing up getting ready, I went down to the car and cleaned out the back seat and trunk, so they could put their luggage in it. Before leaving, I asked Robert what the fastest way to get to LAX is, since he worked there for about a year and commuted from Burbank, he would know.
Anyway, we followed his directions and got to the airport about 12:50p. We had enough time to drive around the airport 3 times, before they came out of the terminal. Unfortunately, their plane ran a bit late, and they needed to be at the harbor by 2:30p to check in, so we didn't have much time for socializing. Also, they were on their cell phones, making last minute business dealings before going. So we head to the harbor and get there about 2p and get them unloaded and into line to check in. So much for having lunch with them.
So after we drop them off, DisneyGurl is a bit sad, she had been looking forward to seeing her brother and having lunch with them for a while. She hadn't seen them for about 2 years, they live in Oregon. So I took her to lunch at her favorite restaurant/food place, Pink's. On the way there, my manager called and said that I can come back to work on Monday, for my regular schedule, unless I get a call from Incharge offering me overtime. I asked him about today, originally, I had taken today as a paid day off, and I wanted to know if it was still a paid day off, or was it a suspension day. He said that today was a regular PDO but Saturday is my suspended day. At Pink’s, we both have delicious hot dogs. She had the Halloween Dog, a spicy sausage with American cheese, nacho cheese, grilled onions, and tomatoes. I had a 10' hot dog with mustard, chili, and grilled onions, and added to it, Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms and guacamole. We also split an order onion rings and took home the chili cheese fries. God, it was good.
From there, we went to the Disney Store so DisneyGurl could pick up her new hours. While we were there, I dragged her to Legacy to pick up my bi-weekly comic habit. I needed some thing to help cheer me up more. After that, DisneyGurl got in touch with her friend Katie, and we found out that she had been sexually assaulted by the UPS guy. She was ok, just shaken up. Apparently, he tried to kiss her and touch her inappropriately. So we headed over there to give her support. Her husband had left work early to help file the police report. The four of us then left there place and went a pumpkin patch where DisneyGurl and I got a pumpkin. Then we went to Bennigan’s for dinner, well, they had dinner, DisneyGurl and I just had an appetizer and she has a dinner salad and I had soup. After dinner, I dropped the three of them off and went back to our apartment for Sleeping Beauty, picked it up, went back to their place and, the four of us watched it. It had been a long time since we saw it last for all of us. After the movie we went home and into bed.
