I am SO COLD.
This has been a very busy day, and tonight we're going to a friend's party nearby. I'm actually kinda tired and stressed and feeling sort of anxious about tonight, but I know things will be fine once we're there.
Anyway. This week was insane, but then luckily I had the whole weekend off (ugh, I hate working weekends), so Evan and I have been able to spend some quality time together. We're both excited for the end of the semester, because then I'll actually be home once in a while. I know Evan's been feeling slightly neglected, and I'm frankly exhausted and ready for nights at home. And in the spring, I'll only have one class per week, so woooo!
Speaking of the spring, I got offered both internships -- the Zoo and the Museum of Natural History. Having talked to a bunch of different people, I think the Natural History Museum will be a better opportunity for me, but I'm a little sad to turn down the zoo, because it would have been a lot of fun. If I had more time, I'd do both. My adviser said that people rarely switch between zoos and traditional museums, though, so I'll probably just stick with the NHM.
ANYWHO. Today we were lazy all morning, and then we drove waaay out to Malden to get our bed fixed. We have an antique brass bed and one of the siderails was broken -- like a piece had broken off of it near where the siderail connects to the footboard. The dude who welded it for us was really nice, and it was insanely cool to watch him weld it together with the fire and the sparks and oooooh.
So yeah. We came home and cleaned a bit, and then went to get Christmas decorations! We decided against a tree because it'd get expensive fast -- tree, ornaments, lights, stand, etc. Instead, we spent like 20 bucks and got a garland, ornaments, and lights for our mantle and some of those electric candles for the windows in the bedroom. It's definitely festive around here, especially with my cute little pointsettia on the coffee table. Oh, and we put a wreath on the front door :) Now I just need to, um, start, my Christmas shopping, ha. Since then Ev's been watching football and I've been a bum, so basically: awesome day.
