i mentioned my car died, yeah? so, i got only the really essential stuff fixed today, and maxxed out my discover card. the plan is to sell it while its running, and fuck the rest of the stuff that needs to get fixed. someone will buy it. it runs now, will need some more work soon, but nothing beyond normal maintenance stuff for a car with tons of miles, like new spark plugs and shit like that. brand new tires bought two weeks ago. allignment done two weeks ago. brand new brakes done one week ago. and now a new alternator and battery done today, among other newfangled things because it was leaking oil everywhere. so, i'll prob get blue book or just slightly under because of some scratches. i'd be happy with like $3,000, maybe $2,000. for serious. i'm hoping to have someone buy it by mid-september, maybe get enough dough to cover the costs of repairs made to it this summer. i'm not getting another car, which has infuriated my boss. just now she sent me an email pressuring me to buy her girlfriend's POS saturn or the old, broken company car on a payment plan. right, because i almost want to owe her payments, especially when i'm trying to find new employment. can you imaging owing your boss car payments? what a weird situation.
she wants me to have a car so she doesn't have to pay a delivery driver an extra $10 a week to drop off what I need to do the subscriptions. Wow...
i was bawling my eyes out today because of my money situation, not feeling the love from work, and how much i've spent on my car b/c i'm a fool. but you know, being carless will be nice. no gas. no car insurance, and believe me, mine is high because i'm a shitty driver. no maintenence.
did i mention i didn't have power at all for 24 hours, btw? that made today a lot worse. i was hot, kept having to run to a library to use the internets and had to have a coworker totally do me a solid just so i could get my phone charged and check my emails and stuff. lord...
it just came back on literally not even 45 minutes ago...
the only regret i have is buying a city sticker just last week (and paying late payments to get it), and the fact that my plates expire in three weeks. haha maybe somebody will buy it before they expire.
actually, if your plates expire, are you okay as long as you don't drive around with expired plates?
p.s. anybody ever sell a car on their own and not use a place like carmaxx? what should i watch out for?
