I don't know! I was fairly confused about the whole process. LET FRIDAY COME QUICKER SO WE CAN KNOW. (And for other things about Friday ahahahahaa god. I am inarticulately excited.)
It would make sense to me and I really hope that's what happened. I think a lot of people would be un-squicked by that storyline and enjoy the show a whole lot more! Either way I am so pumped for Friday, I am sure it's going to be an awesome ep!!!
Aww come on, I really like her! While I agree that the last few eps haven't been at the pace I would like this season is still pretty stellar imo, minus a couple flops. Why does fandom hate her...?
Why you think it's such a 'huge leap, character-wise'? They've changed a lot, but they also changed a lot from s1 to s3 and s3 to s5. I think the character development has been what they've been doing the best for the past two seasons.
But yeah, I prefer most of the earlier seasons as well. :)
Seriously, I'm so over that whole storyline I don't even really care.
But if I was to think about it the way I'd prefer to understand it is that Cas took the hallucinations, not the memories. You know, the mental affliction. That's why Lucifer addressed Cas as brother.
But, as Sam himself said, he was cool with having the memories. Seeing as how having been in Hell means he's atoned for all the bad he did. So if he still had them, he could live with that. Is what he said.
*shrugs*
And even though Sera seems to be a Sam girl she has written some really good emotional episodes. Didn't make me like Dean any less, anyway.
I'm wondering this too. It would make way more sense to me if he did, since he's done it with Lisa and Ben and I don't get how separating the two works, but I doubt it will go down that way. I guess we'll see sooon.
I wish they would take things in that direction, even though I have MANY ssues with mind-wiping. I was never a fan of this storyline/felt it was detrimental to both Sam and Dean, and I think the showrunners are over it now too. ;/
I have issues with Ben & Lisa style mind-wiping, but I'd be cool with mind-wiping Hell. Anyway I agree, it seems like they're basically done with this storyline and that's all I really want! I hope they get back to the Dean stuff they were focusing on earlier in the season, I thought that was basically flawless.

I agree about Sera, she's written some of my favorite Dean episodes and I don't feel like he's been abandoned or anything in her time as show runner.
