Despite feeling bad for all those poor souls who have got stuck or horribly delayed due to our latest natural disaster, i have been having a bloody excellent time.

I left work at the normal time, the bus was about 15 mins late, which it can be anyway. Got off on Broadfield road, as i usually do anyway, to look at the river. It was absolutely amasing! I took as many pictures on my phone as i could then came home and got my proper camera.

The police had shut off the bridge by the bridge inn, the road under the railway bridge was a couple of feet deep as well. The river was incredible though, about ten feet higher than normal and only just fitting under the bridges. I walked all round and took loads of photos, will have to post them up when i get chance. A huge swirling, seathing mass of fast moving water.

I talked to a man on the way home as well. His daughter asked if he knew me so he told her no, but everybody knows each other when something like this happens. Very well put i thought and so true, i talked to lots of people today, people really are so much different at times of disaster or other fascinating events. It's a shame we can't keep it up really.

I was even so exhilarated by the whole experience i came home and cooked (a bit of a rare occurence these days). Damn those chillis are still strong. I may not have managed to go swiming as planned but i did get a good long walk instead.
