Layers of merino wool. There's a lot that's cut with long sleeves and tails for cycling. Start at the website for Rivendell Bicycle Works. (When I posted the link it was marked as spam.)

dress in layers. I just have a bunch of underarmor type stuff from lacrosse that i wear under my jerseys.

merino wool is awesome too.

balacava to keep your face/head warm. I especially like the original buff.

For the bike: fenders are a must to keep a lot of the slop off you. Maybe an extra light or two - don't wanna be without that when it gets dark at like, 4pm. Reflecting things. Yadda yadda ( ... )

I have down things that I tend to avoid wearing on a bike, just because they get too darn hot. Maybe sleeveless would be good, though, I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the tips.
